Roofing & home improvements · Watford
Roofers & builders in Watford.
Watford is about seven miles south-east of our base. We work all over the town: West Watford's terraces, Cassiobury's 1930s semis and family homes in Garston and Oxhey.
Working in Watford
From Callowland terraces to Cassiobury semis.
Terraces near the centre
West Watford, Callowland and the streets around the centre are full of Victorian terraces. Many have been re-roofed over the years in heavy concrete tiles, which can put strain on the old roof timbers. When we quote for a re-roof, we check the timbers and suggest a lighter covering if they're struggling.
1930s semis around Cassiobury and North Watford
Large parts of Watford were built between the wars, especially around Cassiobury Park, Nascot and North Watford. These semis have hipped roofs, bay windows with their own small roofs, and often a side extension or garage with a flat roof. Common jobs include re-bedding hip and ridge tiles, re-covering bay and porch roofs, replacing timber fascias with uPVC, and new flat roofs on extensions.
Permit parking
A lot of Watford's streets have controlled parking, so we arrange visitor permits or bay suspensions for vans and skips before work starts. Where a scaffold has to stand on the pavement, we apply for the licence and keep the walkway clear.

Good to know
Questions from Watford homeowners.
Can you fix the small leaking roof over my bay window?
Yes. Bay and porch roofs on 1930s Watford houses are often covered in lead or felt that has split with age. We strip and re-cover them so they're sealed properly against the main wall.
Do you sort out parking permits for the job?
Yes. If your street has permit parking, we arrange what's needed for the van and any skip, and let you know before the start date.
