New town homes
Hemel was named a new town in 1947, and Adeyfield was the first neighbourhood to be built. Most of the estates that followed date from the 1950s and 1960s. Many of those houses still have their original concrete tiles. The tiles often last well, but the felt, battens and nails under them are now near the end of their life.
